1. Wow, having a social life is kind of awesome. Takes work but it's worth it. I'd really missed it. (That's an exaggeration - I never totally lacked one. But I'm a lot more motivated for it now. Concerts, plays, just going to the coffee shop with a book so I don't get that last-person-on-earth feeling I get if I stay home all day.)

2. I have no comfortable daily-wear type summer shoes. It's always hard to find the right pair, because I hate having my feet exposed (they're one of the most sensitive parts of my body - stubbing toes or having them stepped on or getting a rock in shoes is excruciatingly painful and I don't like feeling even a little vulnerable to it) the last pair I had that sort of worked I got for free at a clothing swap and literally wore them til they fell apart (took three summers). ??

3. My porn muse is being uncharacteristically coy. It's not a block, it's just...current short WIP is demanding more seduction than usual.

Comfortable daily-wear summer shoes don't exist this season. I'd like to fastforward to summer '08, please -- for the fashion as much as the campaining.

Heh, yeah, I am NOT impressed with the fashion this summer.

The campaigning, on the other hand, has already started--at least up here. :)

Yes, fahion this summer is appalling -and that from me, who usually doesn't even acknowledge something like fashion exists at all. This badly-imitated fifties-mixed-with-seventies-and-everything-bad-from-the-other-decades style gets my heartfelt contempt. *hates pearls, ribbons and granny pink*
I'm glad I still have the year before last year's pair of sandals. I couldn't imagine spending the summer in closed shoes -or in those disgusting, flat ballerina-type shoes that seem to be popular at the moment. *vomits*

Keen sandals. They're sandals, but your toes are protected.

my idea of comfy summer shoes is still doc marten eight-holes, instead of the knee-high poleclimbers or the cop-style boots i wear the rest of the year. i'm like you. i hate to have my toes exposed.

(and of course, i like boots).

I'm with you! Boots are comfy, protection, and stylish -- the perfect footwear all year 'round! ;]

but...but...global warming and 100-degree temps? Not anymore, alas.

Well, of course - you're still the High Priestess of Righteous Boots and you always will be. :D

*thinks porny thoughts at your muse*

Good luck in finding suitable summer shoes, too.

Shoes and porn - that's what it is to be a woman, I'm told. :P

1. Yay, social life! I should do more of all of those things myself ..... Rock on, lady!

2. I hate shopping for shoes almost as much as I hate shopping for bras. (I have a hard time getting either of those things to fit right! Plus they're too damned expensive for the wear I get out of them before they die horribly!) 8P

I'd recommend a good, sturdy pair of boots -- really, they may not be particularly summer-girlie, but they'll keep the dratted boulders out.

I think the social-life thing is a result of the Manhattan Principle: The smaller one's apartment, the more one starts to consider the whole rest of the city one's personal living space.

I hate shopping for shoes and bras as much as I hate shopping for any clothes, which is a lot. I wear pretty standard sizes, it's just that I reallly resent how much the shit costs. I usually go for the thrift-shop or $15 Payless option for shoes...unless I see a pair I really fall in love with aesthetically, and when I do, it's almost always boots. :D

My muse has decided it's all about the Tension this time. Which would be fine except it seems to apply to the writer as well as characters.

Social life...? What's that? *blinks in confusion*

Sandals are awesomeness. I'd have died without them the last couple summers. There are some fairly cheap closed-toed flats available, but you have to hunt. Damned fasionistas this year decided on three inch cloggy heels for everything *grumble loudly*

Awww, poor little muse. If it's the same muse who helped me with the pic for it, then it must have gotten worn out XD

I have some closed-toed flats, but they're all gaudy and sequiny and not very daily-wear. I may just get some of those cheap Chinese slippers, I like those.

I hate cloggy things too - I hate shoes that flap against the heel that I always feel I'm going to step out of. I don't mind heels--most of the shoes I wear normally have a little bit of a heel to 'em, an inch or two at least, but not on clogs, gack!

Hee. That's the one. Decided this one's all about tease and mystery, it has.

Stepping out in a bit to go see a play. Political satire. A friend of mine did the lighting design.

I can't walk in anything higher than two inches anymore, thanks to knees and back. But I never was into heels anyway.

That pic will smoke holes into people's eyes anyway, they'll hardly read the story ;) But teasing is often as hot as vivid action, IMO.

I don't know how fancy your footwear needs to be, but if you can get by with fairly casual, have you tried Crocs? I own this pair, and the sandals are pretty comfortable. The toes aren't completely closed, but the wholes are pretty small.

I sympathise with your shoe plight. The best items of warm weather footwear I've been able to find this year are a pair of those ballet type shoes, which are very comfy, but have absolutely no grip whatsover.

Hope your muse manages to come through for you eventually: though from a readers point of view the more gruelling the seduction is, the more satisfying the smut often turns out to be.
