But my laptop is my home unit...it's great, in an apartment this size, with a router cord as long as the one I've got, even without wireless I can surf the web in the living room, in the kitchen, in bed...:D (Theoretically even in the bath, but that seems profoundly unwise.) I'm so used to it I don't know what I'd do with a desktop model now. They take up so much space.
