Two Minute Hate.

Attention: Summer.

GET. THE. FUCK. OUT.

90F tomorrow? NOT acceptable.

Look, I know we've never gotten along. I've tolerated having my birthday stuck in the middle of you my whole life and I think I have generally been polite about it. But frankly, you've become especially loathesome lately: hot, muggy, rainless, and relentlessly too fucking bright. All that harsh yellow sunlight for weeks on end uninterrupted? NOT pretty. It's tacky, monotonous, dreary, and about as pleasant as a the visual equivalent of a car alarm that won't stop.

I can understand how you might be a little bit confused, because the Cubs are still playing (and still losing) but it is NOT July. It is October. You wore out your welcome in August. GO. AWAY.

No love,
Me.

PS: Weather gods - if you want to make it up to me, let's have lots of deep fluffy snow this year. I've been feeling pretty ripped off the last couple.

I like the heat, the sun...not so much. And you may have our rain, we have had way too much of it for my liking.

No KIDDING. I hate summer, and I too have to endure a hot, muggy, miserable birthday.

God, I'm hungry....diets suck.

Yes yes yes -- I mean, down here it's more expected that there will be 90s in October, but I still loathe the idea. October is for crisp cool nights and maybe warm (but not hot) days. For leaves turning color and hot cider and the switch from stuff-on-the-grill to stuff-from-the-oven.

*grumbles* *uses autumn weather icon to try to encourage things*

word.

the world is not healthy. it's groaning beneath the weight of the northern hemisphere's greenhouse gases. it's weeping with the pain of its thick, poisoned veins.

some humans can be appallingly, unspeakably stupid. human cruelty and ignorance toward other humans is one thing; what we've done to our home and those who share it scares me even more than what we do to ourselves. sometimes i can't believe it isn't deliberate.

DITTO.

and about as pleasant as a the visual equivalent of a car alarm that won't stop.
I always wondered if other people felt the same way...

Is someone getting sweaty? lol

I can relate! My birthday's in June. *vomits* I couldn't have expressed it nearly half as well, though. ":-D
I'm glad summer finally left my side of the planet alone. *enjoys the colder (though not nearly cold enough) weather and misty mornings over here*

*sigh*

I kinda miss Bay Area "seasons". July? Cold and windy as all get-out! October? Sweltering!

Vancouver isn't quite as interesting. It goes a little something like:

At least the weather had the decency to cool off slightly on Sunday, when I was out in my garden chopping down the tomatoes. You're not supposed to be at risk of heatstroke in October!

Ah, well, it won't be logn before we're all whining about the cold. :D
