A Hobbit-related speculation.

So obviously Peter Jackson and WETA and the whole crew are spending massive energy and brainpower and money and creativity to work out just how to do the bestest, hugest, most imposing, most convincing dragon character of all time. I bet they'll succeed at that, too.

Might they be doing it with an eye to using this knowledge even more in the future? PJ did buy the rights to the Temeraire series a few years ago...

I WANT too. But the dragons can't look stupid, they just can't. They need a filmmaker who knows his critters. For all his flaws, PJ IS that man.

Well, BC is on a villain roll right now too, especially considering his other role in The Hobbit. But it's that voice. He's the new Alan Rickman for voice fetishists. Hee, cast him as both Temeraire and Laurence and he can just talk to himself the whole movie.

Oh no, of course they can't look stupid. What I meant about it being a movie OR being on tv is that last I heard, PJ was leaning more toward Temeraire being a miniseries rather than a movie.

That would be totes okay with me, if they were applying the same effort and skill towards it.

Ooo, I didn't know he was considering doing a miniseries. DO want, with that caveat. Sometimes you can do a lot more with a miniseries if you have less time constraints.
