I couldn't do go_exchange this year, as my PhD funding runs out in October 2009 (alas, we only tend to get three years worth in the UK) and I'm desperately trying to get as much as possible done before then, but I'm really looking forward to seeing all of the fic and art when it's posted in December.
...I wonder what it says that, with one year left and the time-crunch of beginning the third year of my own Ph.D., I didn't decline to do this and I don't plan on declining Yuletide *headdesk* Sometimes I really do question my priorities. Then again, as long as the work gets done, and it tends to, I feel I'm within my rights to have some fun. But facing down that third and final year is daunting; I agree.
Well, like you say, as long as you're getting the work done there's no harm in enjoying yourself. For me it's really a case of being too tired to write fic after finishing work for the day at the moment, but then, multi-tasking just doesn't seem to be one of my strong points.
Good luck with Year 3. I just can't believe how quickly time seems to have flown since first starting my research degree.
Heh, I would have loved to have taken part this year, but given how worn out I'm feeling at the end of the day at the moment, I thought that it would be better for my stress levels if I didn't take on another commitment.
