Oh, and...

I've been thinking that if I could ask Gneil and/or PTerry one Good Omens-related question, it would actually have nothing to do with the theology of the changed world or a second apocalypse or the mysteries of the Horsepersons or anything related to whether or not Aziraphale and Crowley are So Doing It (tm). Those are all things for fandom to play with, which it does quite nicely.

It would be a fairly straightforward question.

Who was Adam's mother?

If there's any fic or meta on this subject anywhere, please point me!

Some random (but attractive) damned soul hoping for a promotion by putting out for the Big Guy? Would Lucifer have gone for a "trophy wife" or just good genes?

Couldn't he have both? Damned souls are scarce.

But I was thinking of a living woman--one willing to make a pact with the devil in return for RL advantages.

How about Madonna? The name'd be ironic, then. Although it's way too close to RPF for my liking.

Bwah! She must have done something dramatic to be such a big star with that annoying squeaky voice of hers. And that might explain all her mystical BS now. :)

That's a damn good theory.

(I mean, it's not like LOTR where nobody has living a mother and you just accept it as a literary convention.)

And all her pseudo-blasphemy in the earlier days. E.g., 'Like a Prayer':

In the midnight hour I can feel your power...

I hear your voice, it's like an angel sighing
I have no choice, I hear your voice

And it would, of course, make her just 'Like a Virgin' in a special way.

The more I think about this, the better it fits.

It even explains why she's being such an insufferable public broody hen now...

And the more she elaborates the truer it gets!

Thanks!

It's a good revenge for all the pop she infected my friends with when I was a tween.
