I'm so glad you did this meme. I just read "Pursuit of the Last Lantern," and...oh. Wow.

Despite the fact that it was my first fandom, I don't read or write LotR fic. I mean, seriously, I can count the number of LotR stories I've read on the fingers of one hand, and of those, only one worked for me and felt believable and true.

There was something about your summary that made me go, "Huh, that sounds really interesting," though, and I clicked, and I'm so glad I did. I love everything about this story! The writing is beautiful, I was able to read hobbit!sex seriously for the first time (and it was hot in a bittersweet way), and Eowyn/Dernhelm broke my heart.

What I loved most, though, was your Merry--who very much isn't a child.

Again, wow. What a gorgeous story! Thank you so much for pointing it out. :)

And omg, you've done the impossible--now I actually want to go read more LotR fic. I'm scared.
