from modillian: Your job is now your Time Lord name. The last digit of your phone number is the current regeneration you are in. The nearest clothing item to your right is now the most notable item in your current wardrobe. The last person you texted is your current companion. Your favorite word is now your catchphrase.

I am the Fifth Assistant Manager. I'm known for wearing a black hoodie featuring the logo of a Chicago-based indie metal label, and I have adventures through time and space with my landlord. I'm likely to proclaim everything to be "eldritch."

Pick up the nearest book to you.
Turn to page 45. The first sentance [SIC] describes your sex life in 2012.

"Had her mind been calmer she, the woman out of Faery, would have known that one of those shadows was a man."

From The Song of Rhiannon by Evangeline Walton.

Is it bad that my first reaction wasn't "that sounds creepy," but "YAY! That sounds promising"?

From the "Which Dresden Files Character Are You?" quiz, snagged from [livejournal.com profile] sirius_luva

I am Susan Rodriguez.

I was a reporter -- and a damned good one. My beat was the supernatural, and my paper was the Midwestern Arcane. I've investigated Elvis sightings, disappearing cities, faerie kidnappings, werewolf rampages, and sarky but irresistable wizards.

Then curiosity got the best of me. The monsters I tried to understand and shed light on caught up with me. Now I'm practically one of them -- held off with the help of the Order of St. Giles.

Now I am the news -- only nobody bothers to report it. The Red Court may be at war with the wizards, but they'd do well to watch their backs. The Order already is.

Fic meme!

Ask me a question about one of my stories or my approach to writing in general. It can be absolutely anything in any fic and I will tell you the honest-to-god answer. Don’t hold back. Anything. Whatever you ask, I will try my best to answer.

(Be warned that the honest-to-god answer to some questions might be "I have no idea, your guess is as good as mine." I don't always understand why I write what I write.)

I could use a little love, or at least some like.

the that's my favorite! meme
A FANFICTION PRAISE MEME
vulgarweed: (Default)
This whole post and its comment thread at Fandom_Wank has me shrieking with laughter harder than anything else in fandom has in MONTHS, and right now I desperately needed a good laugh like you would not believe.

AWESOME.

So I ask my f-list: if you were going to troll a fic-search community in any of your fandoms, what incredibly OTT crack-fic summary would YOU write? And would it be very possibly a real fic that really exists?

If you were going to request a fic of mine but didn't remember it very well, how cracktastic could you make the summary?

If there was a crackfic in your fandom that doesn't really exist yet (as far as you know) but you really wish it did, how would you phrase a fake search request for it?

If all goes according to plan [livejournal.com profile] go_exchange assignments will be going out tomorrow. More on this more officially later.

Fic meme!

I suggested this meme to [livejournal.com profile] musegaarid a while back and am only now getting round to enacting it myself.

The Babel-Drabble!

Here's the deal. Take one of your posted fics and use Google's translator or Babelfish to translate it into the language of your choice and then back into English. Pick out the best line(s) of the new story and write a drabble. Post your drabble on your journal and tag five friends to do the same.

"THAT WHAT YOU MEANS YOU WERE WITH SALADIN!" Under Crowley, a peddler angry it has given of soccer to its ass.

"It wasn't with Saladin that I learned," Aziraphale said. Really, Crowley's devotion to donkey football was rather embarrassing.

"Hmph," said Crowley. "Those Arabs liked their horses way too much if you ask me."

"NOT WITH HE WITH HE! IT OBTAINS YOUR MIND FROM THE GRONDAIA, YOU PERVERTITO OF PERDITIOUS!" The given ass of soccer behind.

"Grondaia?" asked Crowley, puzzled.

"Well, heads wound up in gutters all the time when I played the real game. Honestly, I was rather good," Aziraphale said defensively, thinking fondly of the particularly brutal form of Afghani polo that involved sheep corpses when times were lean, although human heads rolled a lot better.

***

I tag [livejournal.com profile] dreya_uberwald, [livejournal.com profile] celandineb, [livejournal.com profile] bethbethbeth, [livejournal.com profile] argyleheir, and [livejournal.com profile] maggiehoneybite. But I'd love to see these from ANY AND ALL OF YOU.

It's still music festival season, so I've hard hardly any quality time to spend with the new addition to the household. It doesn't even have a name or a wallpaper pic yet.

So I'll do a meme. (I've been tagged for another great one; I'll do that later.) This one I ganked from a bunch of people on the f-list.

1. Comment to this post with the name of a character that I have written in fic or RP.
2. I will comment telling you the following:

a. What initially prompted me to like the character enough to write about him/her.
b. One of his/her best traits.
c. One of his/her worst traits.
d. How easy/difficult I find it to write the character.
e. The story/chapter/paragraph/phrase where I feel that I truly captured the character.
f. My plans (if any) to write the character in the near future.

And/or: Ask me anything fandom-related, and I will probably answer honestly.

And a meme - I was tagged by [livejournal.com profile] sarahsan for a couple, and here's the first one.

Ten Fictional Characters I'd Fictionally Fool Around With )

I tag anyone who wants it - I can't be arsed with making picks from the f-list too. (Feel free to assume I'd fool around with quite a few of you.)

I am NEVER going to work without checking the news again.

Maybe I'm NEVER going to work again.

Half of 'em weren't even there. And the job...well, usually classical music fans are an articulate bunch even when they're telling you to fuck off, but the groaning, oh god the groaning. and sometimes the breaking glass in the background...They would almost give but ate their credit cards instead and I heard this crazy noise where they were trying to get at me through the phone but zombies can't do that, they just ate the wires instead when their receptionists and housekeepers were already devoured.

I didn't notice anything unusual on the bus. (Then again, I wouldn't.) But they were everywhere at Whole Foods, a run on organic free-range BRAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNS at $12.99 a pound, but River the trainee's brains were free and all over the floor being drooled out, and some European lady in serious denial was snarking at me because she couldn't move her cart because of some kid she thought was my daughter, AS IF, until the sweet-little pig-tailed thing with one eyeball hanging out on a sinew bit huge chunks out of her leg, and I was like, fuck it, my bath salts can WAIT.

So here I am. Waiting. Screams. Smell of bloody meat and lighter fluid outside. Burning 'em doesn't work.

1. Take your OTP
2. List your personal canon for those characters. So the stuff that has nothing whatsoever to do with the books, but in your head is irrefutably what would have happened xD

hee. The more I write any particular pairing, the more personal fanon builds up. So here's the one I've written most!

personal canon: Aziraphale/Crowley )

For a certain value of "irrefutable" of course. I've written things that contradict some of 'em, and very well might again...negative capability, y'know. Important for fandom.
