Last night quantum_witch and I got to give something back to someone who's given us a lot. We posted an illustrated giftfic (belated birthday) for blueeyedtigress at switchythings, and it was big fun.

We revisited the world of our GO Elizabethan epic The Phoenix and the Turtle to bring her a version of the untold story of how Aziraphale's problematic mortal pal came by his shocking amount of knowledge. ("Madimi, that is entirely too much information!")

The last few days have been...wow. The less said the better, except I didn't really realize how stressed-out I'd been. Until today. Blergh.

BUT! I'm all about the bright spots, and here's a HUGE one! My dear quantum_witch is drawing again. Boy, is she ever!

New version of Amid the Sacred Wreck (probably my most-read GO story to date) at switchythings with a gorgeous new illustration (and no, it's not work-safe!). Go see! And give her love - Lord knows I do.

The holiday being Saturnalia, that is. I don't know if the retail economy of ancient Rome started sell-ebrating a month and a half early, but we'll pretend they did.

And it is happy indeed tonight! New post at switchythings: the illustrated version of "The Circular Argument." That's the one I wrote a year or so ago in which an angel, a demon, and an Antichrist have a nice long three-way...existential discussion. Lovely illos, as always!

Speaking of illustrations, celestialsoda is having a one-artist Giftart Contest! She's looking for Harry Potter and Good Omens recs specifically. (And we know which one has it all over the place in terms of sheer numbers, so GO folks need to represent!)

Hey, when I woke up today (not I didn't say "this morning") I had no idea quantum_witch and I would be posting anything to switchythings tonight!

But in about one day, she did three drawings for an older story of mine, and finished up this evening. It's not locked to members, due to the story's age and shocking lack of smut.

The new DADA teacher is an American with BALLS. Oh, and he's a bald eagle Animagus! Considering that Stephen Colbert had already written himself as a Gary Stu into Middle-earth, this is metafanfic with so many layers it makes me cry like an onion. In a good way.

Also, if you feel like joining world_cup_slash, there's a very nicely done (friendslocked) PG-rated short, "Attention-Seeker," by grondfic that explains the Zidane/Materazzi incident in just the right way....

I'm lookin' at you, Weather Channel. *grr*

However, it does seem that the monsoon season has started over at switchythings.

My esteemed collaborator quantum_witch posted me a birthday present today! (Four days early but I needed a smile right now)

Like most of our collaborations, it's a smutty illustrated Good Omens slashfic - but she did all the work herself! (I hope she doesn't ever expect me to do any drawing, because nobody wants to see that!)

Anyway, it takes a few-sentence bit from one of our collaborations and expands it into a full story. it's sweet, it's hot, it's funny, it's just wow. Go look!

I love maggiehoneybite's birthday fic for her - in which Helob and Morliant, her slashy Tolkien-verse Giant Spider antiheroes, save their species' honor in The Middle-earth Minions of Evil Football Final!. Just brilliant.

Just posted this weekend's new toy over at switchythings. Well, it's sort of new. It's actually the first non-drabble Good Omens story I ever wrote, a little over a year ago, with shiny!hot!funny! new illustrations by quantum_witch.
