I don't care what that salt stain on the friggin' Fullerton overpass looks like.
For a park ranger's daughter who grew up learning the names of critters from the cradle and mourning every one of them that was fading, this, if it really is true, fills my miracle/wonder/discovery quota.
ETA: Environmental writer at Daily Kos has the story now too. There will be a press conference tomorrow, and it looks like this IS what it's about. Looks legit.
