Almost 2 million in Sao Paulo last weekend.
"The parade's main theme was the legalization of civil unions in the South American country of 182 million. Civil unions between same-sex couples are permitted only in Brazil's southernmost state of Rio Grande do Sul."
I think proportionally that still puts Brazil ahead of the US, doesn't it? Brazil has only 26 states.
ETA: New, in addition: Brazil approves breaking of AIDS drug patents, which is allowable for the benefit of public health but obviously discouraged by pharmaceutical companies.
