It be International Talk Like a Pirate Day, ye scurvy dogs! Arr.

Happy belated birthday to [livejournal.com profile] bucketgirl, [livejournal.com profile] millefiori, [livejournal.com profile] coldcoffeeeyes, and [livejournal.com profile] isiscolo. Because I suck.

Still loving the hell out of [livejournal.com profile] slodwick's Worst Case Scenario Handbook Challenge; stories still trickling in in dozens of different fandoms. here be th' list of swag, mateys.

(My first story for this challenge was Piercing the Veil, my first Tolkien fic of any length in quite some time, and it's worth seeing for [livejournal.com profile] murasaki99's fantastic illustration. Yes, it's a comedy--because ramming barricades is inherently funny--and it stars two rather hapless and slightly slashy rank-and-file Ringwraiths having a bad night of it in Mirkwood. I've missed those particular Nine Muses! Welcome back, guys.)

That's right, I said "first" - though the deadline is past I'm already 2000 words into another and can't stop now. Because, as I said, ramming barricades is inherently funny, this one is a comedy too. Demon, angel, Bentley. Not arranged in the order you'd expect them.

But I'm stuck here swabbin' the deck right now.
