Oh Remix/Redux is such a interesting fest! I did it last year and loved it, which is the reason I'm doing it again this year. I'm sure you're going to have lots of fun.

Sorry, but I just don't find this tempting. I don't think I've ever wanted to rewrite somebody else's fic. (And forcing me to use a pairing - not a particular one, just the fact that the story has to have pairings - will probably result in no fic at all as the moment I decide to write romance the two characters in question usually mutiny and run off in different directions.)

The way I understand it, you could totally remix a gen fic with no pairings if the writer you're paired with has one. And if there's a pairing in the original story, you can't change it, but you can sort of background it and make the story more about the plot.

Still prefer my own plots, though, I'm afraid. (And I really should be working on The Catar. I should have finished that fic a year ago ...)
