I'll be sporadic online this weekend, 'cause it's Pitchfork fest time. For me it's (a) work-related, (b) a buttload of music and (c) a 10-minute walk from my house. Oh my GOD I had fun tonight. Even lowered myself to a Stupid Ex-Girlfriend Trick (called him 3 times and each time left about a minute of PUBLIC ENEMY LIVE HOLY SHIT on his voicemail because it was JUST THAT FUCKING AWESOME. The modern version of a "wish you were here" postcard).
Although I am not generally a huge hip-hop person, somewhere in me is a massive rant about what PE sounded and felt like when I was an intern in NYC summer and fall of '88, the first time I ever lived in that city on its own terms--at $5 an hour, no money from home--instead of just being a regular visitor. My stars, I wanted The Revolution so bad, and I wanted it to sound just like that. Well, that and early Sonic Youth combined.
In the meantime,
cat_latin has written Good Omens/Torchwood crossover smut! Equinox (Crowley/Jack, Ianto/Aziraphale, NC-17).
And the Good Omens Kink Meme still exists, although it's slow as molasses.(I've written three! Y'all do your parts!)

Date: 2008-07-19 05:42 am (UTC)I realize, thinking about it, there are no actors who "play" either Crowley or Aziraphale in my head. I have my own mental images, but they don't match up with any celebrities I can think of. (Though there's been some theoretical-movie casting wank at L_T over the years, and I'm OK with the original Pratchett/Gaiman/Gilliam noodling about of Johnny Depp as Crowley. Aziraphale's a lot more difficult. I could live with Stephen Fry or Kenneth Branagh, theoretically.)
Doesn't matter much, overall. My mental Snape still looks nothing like Alan Rickman and my mental Frodo looks nothing like Elijah Wood, although I thought both performances were excellent. I always like to read the book first, because my brain images always win out. :)
