Now it can be told: I wrote Seven Signs, Seven Seals (Delivered - I'm Yours!) for [livejournal.com profile] htebazytook. She's one of my favorite writers in the fandom, so it was awesome to get to write for her, especially since she offered up a prompt that played right to my weaknesses. Crowley and Aziraphale are unleashed on the 2008 Presidential election.

(I thought this would be super-obvious, especially considering my Yuletide story, but no one guessed it.)

My. I'm so impressed. I do love the intricate depth of your stories, the way things mean and refer to so many more things than just one. It reminds me a bit of Diana Wynne Jones in that.

I sympathise fully with Aziraphale: the bit with Adam in it made my head hurt too, just trying to wrap my mind around all the implications simultaneously. It was fun, there's nothing like an unexpected metaphysical workout to keep the synapses alert.

If I hadn't started getting ill and therefore stopped paying so much attention to GOE, I'd have guessed it instantly :)

Oh, and that second link doesn't work - you left off the "h" at the beginning of "http".

It really was obvious, too! *facepalm*

Yes, you certainly would have. :D

Fixed, thank you!

Aw, thank you so, so much. (I need to read some DWJ, can't believe I never have!)

The meta in the arguing Antichrist scene was really, really fun to write - especially considering that Damien Thorn is the character Adam was meant to satirize in the first place. >< And Nicolae Carpathia comes from the favorite "literary" work of the Sarah Palin crowd....maybe the only one lots of them have read.

Neener neener. Well, you did a great job guessing, anyway. Go over there and claim your prize!

I think you might like Diana Wynne JOnes' work a lot. She really is very good. The four Dalemark books are good, and "Eight Days of Luke" and "Dogsbody" and "Deep Secret", which is the best example I know of using the most mundane details to suggest abysses of cosmic significance.
