I'm feeling EXCHANGE MOD PROMPT ENVY.

Too early to start thinking about
go_exchange? Never! (Mind you, I did keep my Yule tree up til the Spring Equinox this year...)
And I was surfing around, as you do, and I came across the signup post for
castielfest, and OH MY STARS AND GARTERS LOOK AT THAT SIGNUP FORM AND THOSE PROMPTS!
Look how detailed they are. The creativity! The specificity! Look how much fun the requesters are having with their tropes and their plot bunnies and their kinks. Look how many options the signups give to writers and artists.
I don't even need the fic, I'm so smitten with the prompts! Whatever these mods are doing so right, I'm totally going to figure it out and steal it!

Date: 2010-05-29 11:10 am (UTC)I hope not. Been vaguely thinking about what I might want to request this year for a while already. (That and yuletide - except I know what I'm going to request for yuletide.)

Date: 2010-05-29 03:32 am (UTC)I'm tempted to declare an outright ban on fluffy, plotless Aziraphale-and-Crowley-have-a-cutesy-Christmas-together fics.

Date: 2010-05-29 03:43 am (UTC)Though I maintain that my fluffy Aziraphale-and-Crowley-have-a-cutesy-Christmas-together fic wasn't plotless...There's just something weird about GO fandom lately. I hadn't been to Lower Tadfield in a while, but the last time I went it was all adolescent squeeing and angel AUs. Which, I kinda started (the angel AUs, anyway) but nothing that I saw had the intelligence that I equate with the Book. Where'd all the clever, creative fangirls go?
(No offense to any of your friends who might read this! If they're friends with you, they're automatically clever and creative. ;))

Date: 2010-05-29 04:16 am (UTC)I think a lot of the fandom angelologists (and angeLOLogists) are hanging out in SPN these days...GO crossovers are definitely in vogue right now.

Date: 2010-05-29 04:23 am (UTC)But isn't SPN all angsty? See, this is what happens when I go off and study 17th century angels. I lose my pop culture references.

Date: 2010-05-29 05:49 am (UTC)You totally just forced me into signing up to the castielfest. At gunpoint! :P

Date: 2010-05-29 11:33 pm (UTC)SPN is pretty angsty, yeah. It has its moments of humor, though.

Date: 2010-05-30 12:25 am (UTC)BTW - Did you see the prompts for the DeanCastiel exchange? Maybe we need to insist on 3-5 specific prompts? Also maybe up the minimum word count so that people have to put some effort into their contribution? Couple of thoughts...
