If it's the version of your wireless card, you can get a new wireless adaptor that will look like a flash drive and plug right into your USB port for something in the $25 range. Upgrade the wireless, this isn't a reason to ditch the whole computer.

My 6 year old macbook pro did finally have to be replaced after turning into the worlds most expensive paperweight. But you should be able to use the new USB adaptors on your wireless.
