It's after midnight, so...today is my Livejournal anniversary! November 23, 2002. It's not a very exciting first post, alas.
Thanks again to
mctabby, who tempted me hardest, and
resmiranda and
alchemine, who tossed at me the codes that you needed back in those days.
Other than that, I have little to say because it would all be WIP nattering, and we know how much fun that is! (16,000+, which will make "P&T" my longestcompleted fic ever: I'll stop blaming poor Dr. Dee and start blaming all you NaNo'ers and your literary fertility magick flying all about indiscriminately. My wards against that kind of thing are shit.)
No, I do not remember where I was when I heard the news that Kennedy had been shot; my parents lived on different continents at the time and wouldn't meet for another five years. I'd like to speak to a good past-life regressionist about it someday, though.
Thanks again to

Date: 2005-11-23 07:41 pm (UTC)this isn't really the correct icon to use -- but isn't Harry just cute here?

Date: 2005-11-23 11:52 pm (UTC)It works for me. It's my LJ's birthday, after all. Harry is adorable. Was that just before Snape mashed his head into the book?

Date: 2005-11-23 10:02 pm (UTC)Hehehe :P And I'm one of the most blame-worthy for this project. But it's truly shaping up to be one of the finest GO fics I've read, and not just simpley because it's yours (though that is, of course, a factor). It's just really, really wonderful on so many levels. Be proud :D
Now I must ask yet another probably stupid question... what is "NaNo"?

Date: 2005-11-23 11:57 pm (UTC)NaNo is short for NaNoWriMo, which is short for National Novel Writing Month, a sort of annual ritual of madness in which writers gather to push themselves to crank out a 50,000 word novel in one month. Of course it had to be one of the 30-day months they picked, and one with a big holiday in it too. I've tried it before and it's wonderfully freeing to just crank without worrying if it's any good at the time (editing comes later!)...but I've also never actually succeeded in reaching the mark.

Date: 2005-11-24 01:18 am (UTC)drop me a post when you sign up. it's a great medium. i really like the comprehensiveness of the site and the participants. it feels like the closest to an online playa community as i've found anywhere (including burningman.com's eplaya)... mostly 'cos it is san francisco based.
you still in chicago? lemme know how to reach you (phone, direct email, etc.) via shady(at)blotterati.com.
i'd love to keep in touch more.
