"You mean... that?" Adam answered, pointing at the offending glob of goo.

"Yeah, that shiny white stuff," Pepper said.

Adam hesitated for only a few seconds. "Of course."

Wensleydale sighed. "I can't believe I agreed to go through with this."

"Oh, quiet you, you looked like you didn't mind a minute ago," Pepper snapped.

"I suppose I didn't know exactly what would come out. Well, I knew it'd be something called 'letchwater,'" Adam clarified. "But I thought we all agreed that we should find out, anyway."

"Yeah, that's true," Brian agreed. "We had to figure it out so we could fight witches."

"Excuse me, but I don't recall that being the only way to fight witches," Pepper huffed.

"You heard what the old man said, same as any of us, Pep. Anyway, I reckon we're going to need more than just that if we're really going to fight," Adam said as he began to unbutton his pants.

Brian quickly followed suit while Wensleydale sighed again before looking downwards in what seemed like contemplation.

"But I don't think I can make the... letchwater, Adam," Pepper whined.

Adam colored rather suddenly. Then he cleared his throat. "Yes, you can. I know it."

oh, I'd believe that one! I do remember a scene from some random porn that I saw during my teens. But I just didn't get it then. It was definitely one of those delayed epiphanies for me!

busy! but really really good. I have been researching several historical frontiers: aviation, space, and nano. It's all news to me. So I've been reading like crazy. And slowly constructing a theoretically informed but ethically sound fandom survey... and then there's the male preg chapter draft that I just turned in.... the raelians need revising...

and everything needs to be turned in before early October! (I made babybean my deadline).

speaking of babybean, she packs quite a punch these days. this morning, I could literally see her moving about my belly. 'Twas seriously neat.

I have been reading an extremely filtered version of my flist - I can't stand not knowing about my true loves.

Oh, that's so exciting! So much to learn about - I wish I were less scientifically illiterate, honestly.

That's got to be amazing to watch.

I have no concrete plans yet. Too soon. Today I spent too much time on email talking my mom down off the ledge about our team's FIFA WC prospects. "Why is Perreira keeping Ronaldo in so long, he SUCKS" -- now, world_cup_slash generated a theory about this immediately, but not anything Mom needs to know about -- "well, I'll just harden myself against hope..." Oh, the DRAMA. That's how it is when you're the biggest "BNF" in that "fandom"--it's a cause for hair-rending when you win but not by enough.

So the final's July 9. I'm just hoping I won't be a half-orphan.

the fandom survey: oh, I was hoping that you'd be one of the few who could give the whole thing a trail run - I have to finish it and get it passed by the human subjects board first - and that should take another 4-6 weeks. But then, I'd love to have your input. I've had to develop it a lot more from the lj-based one that I started with a few months ago. Now I'm trying to make it work for online fans more generally.

duh! the world cup and your heritage! I forgot about that... MrBean is a HUGE soccer fan - and I like hanging with MrBean - so we've been watching a lot of matches. But I haven't seen Brazil play yet. it'd be fun to be among real soccer fans - or to have them in the family. It just seems like this entirely different thing. I did go to an Olympic quarter-final game during the 1996 Games - they were held in GA. It was AMAZING. I can't even remember who was playing - only that the fans were just insane - which made the game so much more entertaining (and intense) than any other live game that I've attended.

I hope you won't be a half-orphan, either.

I'd love to! So many fandom surveys I've seen were appalling ethics-wise -- but I also met one of my oldest multi-fandom friends when she was just dipping her toes in the waters of fandom-essay-writing.

But I haven't seen Brazil play yet. it'd be fun to be among real soccer fans - or to have them in the family.

Their first game was last Tuesday against Croatia. 1-0, and Mom thinks that's a harbinger of Apocalypse. No. Croatia was actually really good. And, historically, Brazil does take a while to build up. And yes, Ronaldo was sucking. All of this is true. And still....

The match that has the greatest chance of causing bloodshed on my friendslist is Sunday afternoon's: Brazil v. Australia.
