[livejournal.com profile] sansa1970 is compiling a Directory of everyone's alternate blog IDs here, bless her.

Basically an LJ clone site, and the procedures are exactly the same. But! 1000 free icons! O.o

A couple of minor differences - the first is that it's wholly and solely advertising supported. So you can't avoid the ads on your journal. Neither can your readers.

I don't think I'll be moving off LJ just yet. For one thing, it lets those eejits think they've won. For a second, I'd be looking even harder at who their backers are - we may be just looking at a very well-researched bit of corporate sabotage. Yes, it's well timed, particularly when fandom is in the middle of a period of self-assertion regarding FL, as well as the pre-meltdown of the final Harry Potter book coming out, and any number of new sequels, prequels, and extra bits and pieces hitting the shelves for a lot of fandoms. Maybe it's just something I've learned from living in a particular political climate for so long, but I really want to know what I'm *not* supposed to be looking at in this case.

(I maintain that it isn't paranoia if they *are* out to get you.)
