Half an hour late for work due to panic attack due to...NO WALLET WHERE WALLET SHOULD BE.

OR ANYWHERE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER.

Frakity-frakity-frakity-frakity-FRAAAK.


I even realize when it probably happened. Most embarrassing part? I was dead sober.

So there I was, on the way to work, canceling my bank cards on my cell and shouting at the poor lady over the roar of the el train. (Nobody had tried to do anything with it.)

Could have been a lot worse. I think there was only about $10 in cash. I've got a temporary ATM card now (another trip to the bank after work). I feel OK now. It's just annoying and stupid.

Madimi picks my pocket. I'm still half expecting to find it in some bizarre nook six months from now. At least I know she didn't empty my account and run to her 'nip dealer.

Anyway, stress release. Who's got something funny or porny to show me?

All's well that ends in something less than disaster, I guess. Good job handling it!

As for me, I lost my house keys on Friday. Eventually I figured out that I'd left them on the counter in the Columbia English office, but in the meantime there was quite a bit of cussin and stressin. Then I got home to two emails from dear friends who were angry at me, or had rather colossally misunderstood something I'd said.

Overall not a swell weekend. But I got a call from my niece this morning--Mei-Mei has a new sprog! Little Finn Douglas (middle name is my dad's name; it was a surprise for him) tried to join in the conversation already.

Does Madimi steal your lighters and pens? Pip does mine. I'm so frakkin glad she doesn't have thumbs.

Yikes - losing house keys is scary. One of the things I don't like about being alone. I've been meaning to get copies made for friends in just such a case. Still haven't done it.

Handling it? Yeah, I guess I did do alright. Bach's Rescue Remedy is my friend these days, fo sho.

I'm so sorry about the friend misunderstandings. That's much more difficult than lost keys or a lost wallet. And congratulations on Little Finn Douglas - awesome name!

Madimi steals lip balm, pens, little pill bottles, anything that rolls. She also apparently ate half of a foam rubber earplug. (I found half of one, all slimy with kitteh slobber.)
