it wastes your time and shreds your speakers.
If you need hours of laughter, nothing beats Sarah Hartwell's cat rescue stories: Moggycat's Pages
I'm feeling the old wanderlust again BAD. Last night I actually sat through all of the 1999 Anna and the King on HBO, a retelling of the 'King & I' story that really should have been better than it was with Chow-Yun Fat, Jodie Foster, and a chubby-cheeked Tom Felton (!). Alas, it's badly paced, overwrought, bad romance and far worse history--but it's so fucking beautiful and I couldn't stop pining for Thailand.
That's on top of a day or two of being obsessed with grainy YouTube videos of Olodum in the Pelourinho, Salvador, Bahia. (Note to neighbors: now that is a block party. Learn, guys.) Can I be homesick for my mother's home town if I've never lived there myself?
The sky's been grey and grumbly all day. Like me.
