At least now I think I have my GOE thingie nearly nailed down. Describing it aloud to you helped considerably :)

What the other thing is... I don't even know.

[livejournal.com profile] yuletide is the Big Time for very small fandoms. It's a ginormous gift exchange for fandoms that barely exist, are tiny, and/or get no love any other time of the year.

It's my second year participating (third if you count the New Year's Resolution after-fic I wrote in 2006). The fest has been going since 2003 or so...after so many years of seeing my friendslist EXPLODE with it every fall, I decided to jump in, and am glad I did!

There are about 3400 fandoms nominated already this year - I'm afraid I just added to the pile. :D

WOW! Usually not a fan of RPF, but if someone writes you that Beat Generation story, please be letting me know!

Nice icon!

I was really shocked that it didn't appear to have ever been nominated before--I mean, so much of what they wrote was RPF, after a fashion.

Thanks. I'm on a bit of a Kerouac phase...again.

Right? I don't even know why most of those books are in the "fiction" section...memoirist all of them!

Have you read Move Under Ground by Nick Mamatas? That's my favorite piece of Beat RPF not by an actual Beat--it's a Kerouac/Lovecraft mashup that starts with Jack seeing the drowned city of R'lyeh rising out of the sea at Big Sur and just gets more twisted and brilliant from there. OK, it's a book, not a fic as we think of it, I suppose--but it TOTALLY is! And a crossover/AU at that.

Yup, and I'm willing to write it again! :D

(I'll get that Ariel Hawksquill-centric story I want one of these years, I swear!)
