According to at least one weather web site and the thermometer downstairs, it reached 99 degrees F in Chicago today. (That's 37.2 in the rest of the world.)

Yes, we have central AC. My laptop would have caught fire by now if we didn't, and I might be in either the ER or Lake Michigan. But what I don't have is any food in my apartment that doesn't require cooking, except a little cheese to go with my whine.

By July, I'm going to be wanting to rent a nice cool slab in the morgue fridge to sleep on.

This weather's been nuts! The good news is, though, that you guys usually get what weather we're getting about two days after we've had it - and right now we've got lovely weather, clear, dry, and temps in the 70s (and in the low 60s overnight). So hang on, relief's on the way!
