That last storm just blew my window in. Not breaking it - popped it right out of the frame, with sheets of rain pouring in! Fortunately, Phil, the handyman downstairs neighbor was in - what a sweetheart. Put a screw on it so that won't happen again. I owe him a cake!

*looks up at sky* Oh boy, another one!

Ran into [livejournal.com profile] divinetailor downtown earlier - turned on the Powers of Persuasion for G's gig at the Darkroom tomorrow night. Lee squee!

And y'all?

Yike! I'm glad you weren't hurt! Friends of mine had their windows blown out (fortunately they weren't hurt.) The windows in my apartment started to buckle at around four PM, but everything held, though there are downed trees all over the place and we keep losing power.

Erm, I wonder if that loose screw actually saved you some broken glass? The pressure of that wind was UNBELIEVABLE. *still cowering*

I remember the rattling and shaking. They just said on WGN that there were 74-mph winds on the North side. I'm glad your friends are OK (and you have power - a lot of people don't.)

It possibly did save some broken glass. I've got one of those Victorian bay-window deals - and I'm on the 3rd floor facing west without much shelter to speak of. I get a nice view of the storms, but that's a double-edged sword for sure.

Supposed to be more tomorrow.
