vulgarweedSo I was able to wish my mom a Happy Birthday in Portuguese today!
We got to talking and reminiscing about our trip there in '04 and she reminded me of a lot of funny moments. My favorite one I had forgotten:

Date: 2011-12-10 07:14 am (UTC)She thought I stood out too much (which is true and is always going to be true) and that I have a nice enough figure that I shouldn't wear bathing suits that in her mind are meant only for frumpy, saggy old women. So it was a compliment in a way.
But I'm still not wearing buttfloss where strangers can see it. If that makes me an Ugly American, so be it. At least a little bit less of my ugly is visible.
